Author and adventurer lands in St. John's to talk climate change

David Noble to speak  with Minister of Environment

David Noble, founder of 2degreesC (www.2degreesC.com ) is in St. John's to present an engaging and inspiring public discussion around climate change called ‘Where Climate Change meets Sustainable Inspiration.'

The St. John's edition of the 2 Degrees Tour is taking place:

 Tuesday, November 17 at 7.30 at the

Johnson GEO CENTRE, 175 Signal Hill Road.

There is no admission fee and everyone is welcome

 

On Monday Nov. 16, David will join Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation in addressing the students of Bishop's College starting at 1.15pm.

"We are very excited to have David partnering with the NL Climate Action Coalition and the Johnson GEO CENTRE to host such a worthwhile event," said Bill Hynd of Oxfam Canada and the NL Climate Action Coalition. "David is well-known for his enlightening and inspiring presentations. We expect him to bring forward the need for everyone to get involved to battle climate change and engage in the creation of a sustainable society."

Background Information: David founded 2degreesC, an organization dedicated to advancing collective action and transformational change in response to the global climate crisis. Since founding 2degreesC in 2003, he has led its evolution from a solo operation exclusively in Canada to a networked practice with partners and activities all around the world. David is a published author and editor and has contributed to several major national and international publications on climate change.

In the last year David has visited both the Arctic and the Antarctic - in the Arctic with a group of artists and scientists, including Canadian musicians Feist and Martha Wainright, and the Antarctic with Robert Swan, the first person in history to walk to both poles. He has also trained with Al Gore and is a volunteer presenter with The Climate Project.

The NL Climate Action Coalition includes the NL Environment Network, Sierra Club of Canada, MUN Oxfam, MUN Students Union, Project Green, and Oxfam Canada.
