At the moment, 2degreesC is mostly hibernating. It's founder, David Noble, continues to execute occasional consulting and coaching projects.


David Noble is an institutional entrepreneur with 12 years organizational and change leadership experience, principally in the area of climate change and clean energy, including ten years as Founder and Principal of 2degreesC.

 

Since founding 2degreesC in 2003, David has led its evolution from a solo consultancy working exclusively in Canada to a networked practice with partners and activities all around the world, and has provided leadership and accountability for more than 100 projects in 23 countries on six continents.

He is a published author and editor and has contributed to several major national and international publications on climate change. He has spoken on different aspects of climate change to professional, academic, young person and general public audiences all over the world. 

David is a member of the Community Advisor Panel of The Co-operators Group, a co-operatively owned insurance and financial services company, and an assessor with the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation, which awards Canada's largest undergraduate scholarship to exceptional young Canadians on the basis of character, service and leadership. He is a founding member of the Emerging Leaders in Environmental and Energy Policy network and of Transatlantic Network 2020, and a former Director of each of Bracelet of Hope and Guelph Environmental Leadership. In 2007, he trained with U.S. Vice President and Nobel Laureate Al Gore and has since served as a presenter with Gore's organization The Climate Project.

David earned an a BSc (Env) and MSc (Rural Planning and Development), both from the University of Guelph. His graduate research focused on partner cooperation in interorganizational relationships.

Prior to founding 2degreesC, David was a Visiting Scholar in Transboundary Environmental Policy to The University of Texas at Austin, where he and spent two years and an experiential learning professional in Canada, US and Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands. He also worked a short winter season with an luxury adventure travel company chasing hot air balloons in Switzerland, and once had a 10-day job role-playing a refugee in a Canadian armed foreces peacekeeping training exercise.
